Kootenay National Park

Dog Lake and Cobb Lake offer beautiful snowshoe opportunities. If you’d rather take in the winter sights, make a stop at the Numa Falls rest area to bask in the beauty of snow and icy-blue water. Find more information about Kootenay National Park here.

Nipika Mountain Resort

Nipika Mountain Resort is a 30-minute drive from Radium and is a haven of great winter activities. Purchase a day pass and rent some gear to head down snowshoe, cross-country ski, and fat bike trails. Take your skates for a spin on the frozen pond. Downhill skiers will love the options of Panorama Mountain Resort and Fairmont Hot Springs Resort

Snowmobiling

Radium is proud to host world-class snowmobiling terrain in the backcountry. Make sure to know before you go and confer with the Visitor Centre to learn about current avalanche conditions, and check out the Windermere Valley Snowmobile Society. Skating

From the delightful skating rink in the Village of Radium to the record-setting Lake Windermere Whiteway, skating is perfect in the Columbia Valley.

Fat Biking

Pedal away on snow-covered trails groomed into corduroy. Nipika Mountain Resort grooms over 30 km of fat bike only trails with terrain for all levels of rider. Volunteers with the Columbia Valley Cycling Society groom the Lake Lillian trail network throughout winter. Or go for a fast lap on the Lake Windermere Whiteway.

Lights Tour

The Village of Radium is lit up and festive over the Holiday season. One of the best activities is to head out for a stroll after dark to take in the beautiful displays.
