McLeod Meadows Campground

Mcleod Meadows Campground in Kootenay National Park lies in a wooded area near the shores of the Kootenay River, providing spectacular views of the Rocky Mountains.

McLeod Meadows, set in the centre of Kootenay National Park, is the perfect secluded sanctuary for families looking to unplug. It’s the perfect place to experience all of Kootenay National Park!  Listen to the sound of the Kootenay River and watch for wildlife, including deer and elk. Enjoy a gentle hike to Dog Lake or a more strenuous one by booking a Burgess Shale Fossil Hike to Stanley Glacier, then take a short trip down the highway to the Village of Radium Hot Springs in the Columbia Valley for great dining and a soak in the hot springs.

The open grasslands of McLeod Meadows and the nearby river makes ideal habitat for wildlife viewing. In early summer, the orchids bloom in the nearby meadows once the snow has melted, allowing for a special treat. Sites are appropriate for tents and small to mid-sized RVs.

Mcleod Meadows Campground has 80 un-serviced sites and is a first-come first-served campsite.
