Picture-perfect Romantic Winter Getaway

If you’re looking for a wonderful getaway perfect for couples, Radium offers no shortage of winter fun and relaxation to help bring the romance.

Day 1: A relaxing soak in the Hot Springs

Begin your visit to the Village of Radium Hot Springs with a blissful soak in the Radium Hot Springs Pools. Sink into the hot, languid mineral waters, nestled beneath rugged snow-covered rock cliffs. The perfect way to soothe weary bones after hours of travel.

Ready and relaxed, head out for a tasty, casual meal and a delicious glass of BC wine or spirits at one of the cozy lounges or pubs in town. If it happens to be a Monday night, you’re in luck: enjoy some of the best live music in the Columbia Valley and beyond at Live Music Mondays.

Day 2: Get outdoors in pristine wilderness – Nordic skiing and fat biking

Grab a great coffee and a quick breakfast at a nearby cafe to start the day.

This will be a fabulous day at Nipika Mountain Resort, one of the most precisely groomed and maintained Nordic trail systems in Western Canada. Be sure to pre-order a delicious brown-bagged lunch from the folks there before you set off! Located 30 minutes from Radium Hot Springs, bordering Kootenay National Park, this is active, winter fun. Experienced Nordic skier? You’ll enjoy 50km of groomed classic and skate ski trails. Beginner? Book a lesson, individually or as a group, to get the very most of this spectacular experience. Equipment is available for rent onsite or in town with FAR OUT Adventure Hub.

You can’t leave Nipika without getting out on the snowy trails on a fat bike. There are 30km of dedicated fat bike trails, groomed into smooth corduroy from which you’ll enjoy scenic views, forested trails, and a ride across the Natural and Canyon Bridges.

The Hot Springs beckon once again. Warm up on your way back to Radium with another soak in the mineral-rich waters. There’s nothing like a hot, relaxing soak after a day spent frolicking in the snow.

After so much activity and fresh air, you’ll be ready for a superb meal. Enjoy an evening of romantic fine dining in one of Radium’s several restaurants. Enjoy great food, great wine, and tranquil, quality time for two.

Day 3: Around town – snowshoeing, skating, and Selfie Stations

Begin a leisurely morning off right with a home-cooked breakfast – traditional bacon ’n eggs or a hearty breakfast burrito – in one of the delicious eateries nearby.

Be sure, throughout your day, to visit each of the Selfie Stations around town to document the wonderful memories you’re sure to be making.

More outdoor fun awaits at scenic and leisurely Sinclair Creek Trail. Come with your snowshoes or, depending on the amount of snow, your hiking boots. The Trail is a loop of approximately 2.5 km in length and provides a series of information kiosks outlining points of interest along the route, which serve to educate users on the environment and history of the area.

This is your chance to experience one of the longest skating trails in the world on the giant Whiteway in Invermere, only a short 15 minute drive. Skating is perfect for couples and romance! Enjoy crisp, fresh air and the remarkable, beautifully maintained trail system as you glide together, hand-in-hand over scenic Lake Windermere.

Complete the afternoon with a luxurious and rejuvenating couple’s massage or body treatment at one of Radium’s fine spas. A wonderful way to wind up an active yet relaxing romantic getaway.
